Bri Davey is a multi-disciplinary artist working with watercolor, gouache, letterpress, and calligraphy, to create unique pieces. Originally from SW Montana, she’s now nestled in the Cascade Mountains with her husband, two young daughters and two pups. She is inspired by the great outdoors, her little ones, travel, and food. When not running after her girls or working on art, she loves to cook, ski, paddle board, hike, and explore the globe. A little more about me…
I am Bri Davey and this lovely little spot on the web is a showcase of my art! I am a woman, mother, wife, artist, entrepreneur, maker, creative, letterpress printer, calligrapher, knitter, skier, baker and coffee drinker (to name a few of my roles).
I’ve been painting and drawing since I was a little girl. It was my first love. Creating is in my blood. My Italian grandmother is an accomplished ceramic painter and watercolor artist. She still teaches watercolor classes in her garage (at 84)! My mother is an artist and weaver. I grew up watching them make art and making it myself. Since then, I’ve done everything from typesetting and letterpress printing, to leather work, floral design, calligraphy and graphic design. For the last several years I’ve been focusing on watercolor and gouache painting and I’m working on unique prints in watercolor, illustrations for pattern and textile design, a children’s book, and an illustrated cookbook.
A bit old-fashioned
I am admittedly old-fashioned and appreciate the quiet inspiration that comes with painting late at night after my daughters are asleep, the opening and closing of an antique platen letterpress, the “tap-taps” from my knitting needles knocking together, and the light scratch of my calligraphy pen on paper.
